The gradual adoption of electronic medical records (EMR) in resource rich nations has been a challenging task but one that has improved the quality of health care and reduced medical errors. Creating large scale EMR systems is still difficult for medical facilities in developed nations but even more of a lofty goal for developing countries where resources are scarce and the infrastructure is still in its infancy. In developed countries, there is no one correct implementation of EMR systems and they were built to suit the needs of specific medical facilities. Likewise, it is impossible to suggest a single EMR system that would fit all contexts in developing countries. Thus, this paper focuses on low resource settings in developing countries where there is limited infrastructure and resources.Bachelor of Scienc
